Powys Young People's Independent School and Community based Counselling Services

Powys County Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) has engaged a suitably competent, experienced and qualified provider (hereinafter referred to as “Contractor”) for the provision of a Young People’s Independent School and Community based Counselling Service (‘the Service’). The formal invitation was to submit a fixed price to deliver the service. The Contract will commence on the date indicated in the award correspondence and will continue from that date until 30th September 2025 (“the Term”) at which date the agreement will automatically terminate unless the Council exercises its option to extend for 1 year, plus 1 year, plus 1 year. The service will: - Provide a core face to face and online counselling service with flexibility for additional sessions/hours to be purchased if demand should increase. - Provide a one to one specialised counselling service to serve an age range of: - 11-19 year olds (years 7-13) for the face to face service across all secondary school sites and a range of community based settings. - 11-25 year olds for the online service. - Provide a one to one specialised counselling service to a small number of referred/identified 10 year olds (year 6 pupils). - Deliver group support/counselling to young people, as required, as agreed between the Council and the provider. - Additional grant funding through the Regional Partnership Board (RPB) provides an element of group work in secondary schools on topics such as exam stress and transition. - A face to face counselling intervention under this contract will be for a maximum of 8 sessions plus an assessment session per service user (historical delivery patterns show that the average intervention is 7 session per service user). - A group support/counselling session under this contract will be for a maximum of 4 sessions.
