The two councils have shared a long-term waste contract with a private contractor. This is due to end in the summer of 2026. Within the current contract terms the two councils have the right to take back the vehicles at contract end. To inform vehicle replacements and for the councils to best understand the condition of the fleet that may novate back to them, a comprehensive audit of the fleet is required. .
