BBV HS2 MWCC North - Pumping Stations - Pumped Drainage System Package

Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV) have been awarded HS2 main works civils contracts for the Area North project in the West Midlands. We are looking to engage with a Building Services specialist contractor who can provide design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the complete Mechanical & Electrical services of the buildings housing the equipment for the operation of the Pumping Stations. Full details and specifications will be provided to the successfully shortlisted suppliers. Suppliers should be aware of the scale of this project and should assess their internal capabilities to be able to carry out the intended scope of works, prior to completing this expression of interest (EOI). Additional information: The Pumping Stations are unique elements in N1/N2 civil contract to manage the surface water runoff and groundwater flows for protecting the railway track from flooding. These 3-railway open route drainage pumping stations located in wet cutting have an associated standalone building to house the equipment for the operation of the Pumping Stations. The pumping station building is a single storey technical building housing the M&E equipment for the operation of the pumping system. The building consists of separate rooms for HV intake, Transformer, LV & MCC equipment, auto switching equipment for the drainage pumps, Communication, UPS, Battery, Mechanical ventilation room, and a toilet facility. The rooms for HV intake, Transformers and LV/MCC's are provided in duplicate for resilience purpose. The scope of the Mechanical & Electrical package covers all building services and LV electrical system serving the services at the pumping station buildings. The works under this package includes the provision of Design, Manufacture, Supply, Factory Testing, Delivery, Installation, Site Testing and Commissioning for the following services: • LV Power Distribution, Uninterruptible Power Supply and Lighting System • Cable Management System and Cables • Earthing & Bonding and Lightning Protection • Fire Detection and Alarm System • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, • Public health • Building Communication & BMS System • System integration with pump control. The scope for HV electrical works is covered under a separated package.
