Arts Council England is seeking a consultant or organisation to update the existing guidance on The Management of Controversial Material in Public Libraries (originally developed by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council and published in 2007). The updated guidance will include up-to-date context and guidance for identifying, sourcing, appropriately managing and presenting culturally sensitive material as well as case studies that provide a broad, cohesive approach to highlight best practices usable by all local authorities to manage risk and support library service improvements.
