In the next few weeks, under Public Contract Regulations 2015, DVLA will come to market via Contracts Finder for the following service: DVLA require a provision to provide ad-hoc transport to DVLA staff to and from events. The Service Provider shall provide suitable reliable and properly licensed and insured vehicles to carry DVLA staff to and from events. Coaches and minibuses must be available to book to suit the DVLAs requirements. It will also be the responsibility of the Service Provider to provide suitable vehicles as alternative transport in the event of a breakdown or accident. Start and finish times to be agreed upon request. DVLA will give a reasonable amount of notice to the supplier for each ad-hoc request. Some examples of locations where the bus will be required to go but not limited to: The events can range from ad-hoc trips to Morriston Site to Swansea Vale site. Morriston Site to Birmingham Morriston site to Bristol Morriston Site to Cardiff Morriston Site to Swansea All vehicles must be mechanically sound and maintained to an appropriate standard to comply with all applicable vehicle safety regulations, ensuring all paperwork and inspections are up to date. Vehicle Emissions Standard - The agency expects suppliers to use the most efficient engines available to the supplier. Euro VI standard vehicles are desirable. Drivers The Service Provider must ensure that for each vehicle used, a properly licensed and competent driver is provided. The driver will be responsible for checking staff have a valid DVLA pass to ensure that only authorised staff use the service. Whilst on DVLA property the drivers will comply at all times with the road traffic direction signs and speed restrictions and with directions or instructions given by DVLA Security in relation to access, egress, movement and parking. Likewise, drivers must comply with road traffic regulations whilst on public roads. Drivers are expected to be fit to drive without being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. They must comply with all safety measures including wearing seatbelts, not smoking in the vehicle at any time (only using designated smoking shelters) and not using any personal devices such as mobile phones that distract from driving. The DVLA's Representative will have the right to challenge, or remove any personnel, whom they deem unsuitable to carry out the function.
