Provision of Ambassadorial style security service for Gosport Town Centre

Description

An Ambassadors style security service for Gosport's Town Centre would provide a visible guardianship presence based on the concept of engagement and respect with the public and businesses. This would enhance feelings of safety and address the current high level of Anti-Social Behaviour. This approach is successfully used by Business Improvement Districts to enhance the safety of town/shopping centres. The team for Gosport would work closely with Housing, Streetscene, Local Police, Two Saints, Inclusion and all other relevant parties. Ambassadors would provide intel and liaise with partners to ensure appropriate support and interventions. The presence of Gosport Ambassadors on the streets would not replace the responsibility of other agencies or the public (i.e.: to report incidents) but will complement this and provide a more constant visible presence to improve community safety.
