FBC are the owners of Solent Airport and, in addition to operating the Airport, have a development plan to utilise land around the airport perimeter to increase employment opportunities in the local area. The development programme includes both plot sales, for specific requirements developed by the plot purchasers, and development by FBC to provide employment space. To date such development has included Faraday Business Park – Phase 1 on Spitfire Way, HC Coils facility on Vulcan Way, 2 phases of the innovation centre on Meteor Way, with other plots currently under construction The development plan includes the provision of appropriate plot enabling infrastructure and to date this has been concentrated on the East side of the airport, in the area known as Faraday Business Park. FBC now wish to commence the enabling of land on the west side of the airport, in the area to be known as Swordfish Business Park to release more land for development for the purposes of B2, B8 and E(ii) and E(iii) planning use classes. The area is shown outlined in red in fig 1 below and is approximately 20 Ha in area.
