Provision of a Borough-wide Food Waste Collection and Disposal Service

Description

Slough Borough Council requires a suitable licensed provider to collect and dispose of food waste from all domestic properties within the borough (approx 55,000 homes). The Authority will provide four 11 tonne waste collection vehicles to be used for this contract. The Authority is currently operating a pilot food waste collection service for 5,000 homes and this will extend to another 5,000 homes over the coming months. On the commencement of the contract, the provider will adopt the pilot collection with a phased delivery service rolled out to 55,000 homes commencing from 1 April 2026. The contract will commence in January 2026, for five years with an option to extend for a further two years.
