NEX25/55 Airport Route Upgrade

Description

Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive t/a Nexus are inviting potential contractors to attend a Preliminary Market Engagement workshop on 12th September in Newcastle, relating to an upcoming opportunity for permanent way and overhead line replacement/renewal. The Airport Route Upgrade project will also require some aspects of civils and signalling works and we are looking for a Principal Contractor to undertake the entirety of the works. The tender is be released in early 2026 with the construction works planned to take place during Summer 2027. The workshop will provide an overview of the project to potential interested parties and we aim to gain helpful insights to aid our programme and approach to market.
