BBV is seeking a Subcontractor to carry out post reinstatement soil surveys and aftercare management plans on Sectors N1 and N2 of the IPT Area North for Schedule 16 land parcels, which are agricultural land parcels that have been temporarily acquired for the construction of the HS2 railway. Following construction, the Schedule 16 land parcels will be reinstated to a similar condition as the baseline, followed by soil surveys to ascertain that the pre-construction target was achieved during reinstatement. This forms part of the hand over process for agricultural landowners. The post reinstatement soil surveys are to be carried out by a soil specialist who has experience of carrying out field surveys of soils to record physical properties using the Soil Survey Field Handbook. The surveyor should meet the British Society of Soil Science ALC Competency Standards. The report should also include an aftercare management plan which identifies issues that need to be rectified during the 5-year aftercare period, to ensure that the original ALC can be reinstated at the end of the aftercare period. The Subcontractor for this package may also be responsible for carrying out non-intrusive, visual drainage surveys to identify existing outfalls, header drains and lateral drains and proposing any required remediation measures for drains and the surrounding soils.
