Description

Preliminary market research for the provision of conservation measures in Environmental Delivery Plans that address the impact of developments on great crested newts; in particular for the creation and restoration of ponds across England. Natural England and Defra group Commercial are conducting preliminary supply market research for the provision of conservation measures prescribed in the Environmental Delivery Plans (EDPs) that address great crested newts under the Nature Restoration Fund (NRF). This is an opportunity for suppliers to inform our requirements and approaches for potential future procurement and to evidence that the market is able to supply the goods, services or works required. Where a developer chooses to meet environmental regulations through the Nature Restoration Fund and where Environmental Delivery Plans are available, levy payments will be collected to fund the conservation measures that address the impact on greater crested newts. We are very keen to hear from landowners and potential great crested newt conservation measures delivery bodies who could enable such provision either within specific geographic areas of England or across the country. Such providers may include, habitat banks, not-for-profit organisations, or ecological arms of local authorities operating in the nature recovery space, ecological consultancies, or a broader group of contractors and ancillary organisations.
