Dyfed Area Planning Board (APB) will issue a tender for Dyfed Tier 2 Substance Misuse Service in the Hywel Dda University Health Board (HDUHB) region across West Wales. This is a joint procurement covering: • Office of Police and Crime Commissioner • Hywel Dda University Health Board • Pembrokeshire County Council (APB Bankers)• Ceredigion County Council • Carmarthenshire County Council • Dyfed Powys Police • His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service. The project is being led by the Dyfed APB support team, with HDUHB leading on the procurement process. Substance misuse remains a significant public health and societal issue, contributing to poor physical and mental health outcomes, increased demand on public services, and wider social harm. Effective, accessible treatment and early intervention services are critical to reducing harm, preventing premature mortality, and improving outcomes for individuals, families, and communities. Dyfed Drug and Alcohol Service (DDAS) is a Tier 2 integrated consortium service who are the first point of contact for any adult over the age of eighteen (18) with a drug or alcohol problem in Dyfed, with support provided either to service users who have drug and/or alcohol problems themselves or for those concerned about someone else’s drug and/or alcohol use. DDAS offers initial assessment, deliver brief interventions, time-limited specialist treatment interventions, and an aftercare and recovery service. The service is linked with an NHS Tier 3 partnership, The Community Drug and Alcohol Team (CDAT), as well as being linked to a Tier 4 Local Council Substance Misuse Team.
